Default Got no heat...

hey everyone... I got a 96 LX and something kinda weird is going on. I recently flushed the coolant for a tune up, added 50/50 coolant and water, topped everything off. Long story short, when I put the heater to full blast, its not hot at idle. The funny thing is that when I move, it gets warmer. Could it be a circulation problem? The water pump, timing belt, tune-up has been done very recently. Thanks for the help.

did you use the bleeder valve for the cooling system? it is right above the thermostat housing. Any time you open the cooling system you have to bleed the air out using that valve.......

You could have one of two conditions:

* Air still bound up in the system (for reluctant systems, I suggest raising the front of the car about 1.5 feet.) It forces all the trapped air to migrate into the radiator, where it can be tooped off again. or
* The hot water control valve may be almost completely closed

if that bleeder valve is near the t-stat housing like my wife's car, i didn't haveta tilt the vehicle...

but when cool, i opened up that valve, then start pouring coolant/distilledwater mixture in the radiator until you get the steady stream of **** coming out of it... then tighten. i "massage" the hoses as well, just to make sure it's full of fluid, not air.

close cap. start car w/ heater on hot & full blast....let cool, make sure to check fluid level in resevoir.

I recall using a 12mm offset boxend wrench to get @ it.

I would just drain the coolant out. Open the bleeder bolt. Pour the coolant back in just as you discribed (heater and stuff).

i'll give it a try. How long do you have to open the valve for? I know there is no EXACT time but approximately how long do you have to open it for?

Everyone correct me if I'm wrong but I would say until it starts shooting a steady stream of water/antifreeze and not air.

Yes, then just rinse it off good so the coolant doesn't dry on anything.
