head gasket question
ok I am rebuilding a d15b1 and I asked for a metal head gasket.....they said I needed new head bolts if I wanted to use a metal head gasket and wanted to charge me 7 50 per bolt when I got like 40 honda head bolts layin around....is it true that if I want to use the metal head gasket I have to use an updated head bolt?
the guys at PDQ (a local honda only machine shop) said there was an update and if you want to use a metal headgasket on a d15b1 you have to use an updated headbolt.....I have used a metal one on my a6 with no problems also so I think it is BS too

What friggin language is that?
Anyways, I used the metal y8 gasket with the y8 head on my d15b2 block with the b2 head bolts with no problem.

Only one way to find out put that bizatch on there and check your compression... if you have good compression you should be good. If you have boost or nos however you may want to consider ARP's to handle the added cylinder pressure.
Good luck bro!!!
