ANTI SQUEEL ON REAR PADS?????
Quick question,
how neccessary is the anti squeel on the rear pads. I'm in the process of changing them out and honda supplied it w/ the new pads. Don't really want to get into it if I dont have to, it's like 4 degrees out and I'd rather not be playing w/ lube in the arctic
. Thx

Anti squeal is not needed at all. I just changed the rear pads out and did not use any.

What does anti squeal have to do with pad wear?

I look at it like this:
If you don't use it, and then they squeal, will you take it back apart and put the lube on?
If so, just put it on to begin with

Good point, but it's a pain in the *** because the stuff gets everywhere. Next time I won't be using any anti squeal on the rear pads

i don't think he meant it like that, i think what he meant was to keep an eye on the pad wear and change them when needed so you don't have to worry about squeeking or squealing from them.

If you just cut the corner of the package then squeeze it out in a uniform line, it's easier than tearing it open then trying to control it. Better yet, go to Auto Zone a pick up a bottle of the red stuff that's easy as pie to apply.
