Tranny fluid/ Problem need help
have a 01 GSR
Ok here is the problem:
Having really notchy shifting in general, more so then GSR should, trouble getting the gears 1 and 2
Buddy of mine said drain the clutch fluid, another said replace tranny fluid
1. does any one have an idea of whats going on
2. I can replace both fluids
3. my options are Redline tranny fluid, or BG Syncro-shift
PLEASE HELP
sidenotes...car has 12k on the odometer
And I don't grind gears

Try bleeding the air out of the clutch fluid first.
Then try replacing the tranny fluid.
I usually replace the tranny fluid once a year for good measure.

No, use only Honda MTF. Check one of my post about tranny fluid, most people having trouble using redline in their shifting compare to Honda fluid. Check it out, i just changed mine, now shifts very smooth and easy from 1 to 2, or 2 to 1.
i had a similar problem, and i was grinding into third gear at high RPM's horribly. i took it to acura and they did a compression test to make sure i was beating the **** out of it, and they replaced the tranny fluid. so far its been fine. mine is an 01 as well
