Default ES1 Underdrive Pulley install help...with pictures!

I just bought a 01 ES1 LX, trying to get some mods on it.

I have an AEM alt pulley im getting ready to install, and I had 2 questions before doing so.

1) The stock pulley/belt seems a tad skinnier than the AEM pulley. Look at the picture...

Am I going to need a bigger belt? Will the bigger belt be compatable with the other pulley that goes to down by the crank or where-ever?

2) How exactly is the easiest way to pull this little task off? Will I need anything more than simple hand tools?

Thanks alot, any help is apprieciated

you can go to any auto parts store to get the new belt. yea you have to have a wider belt. best way is to pop out the alternator, put on the new pulley and put it back in.

Thanks for the info so far...

When I purchased the pulley, it said that it fit on any 01-03 Civic...DX,LX, or EX.

I know how the EX stuff isnt compatable with the non vtec LX I have. I dont know if there is a difference in the belt size, but I was guessing that if there was, that the company would ship me one that was made for my non vtec when I wrote my model and trim in the little checkout comments box. So should it be the same size belt as stock, or wider like the pulley looks like? Or did I get the wrong part?

It can have 44000 grooves on it as long as they're the same distance apart. Just because the pulley is wider doesn't mean it wont it. All it has to do is line up so the belt doesn't ride sideways. You'll just have gooves w/o belt over them.
