Default 92'4WS Question

Currenlty interested in a 92 lude w/ 4ws, the thing is that the light is on and the wheels no longer turn.

He showed me the h-t write up on how to re-solder one of the connections in the 4ws ecu but he also has a brand new ecu that he would give me if I purchase the car. Would this solve my problem for good or is there chance of this ecu going to **** just as fast?

He is still driving the car as a dd and is also meeting me about 100 miles from his residence so could the steering just be locked (imobile sp?) and not effecting the rest of the car.

the wheels lock when there is a malfunction, so it is safe

you cant say for sure that the computer is the problem...but it shouldnt be too bad to fix....

Ah ah ah!!! You can't say that for sure!!! Mine don't lock, and they move if I drive on irregular roads.

THe ECU is most likely the issue. That's the most common issue. However, it could be something else.

if he has the other ecu tell him to install that and see if it fixes the issue. if not, haggle him down or don't buy it

Just got done reading about a recall on the main rear steering sensor......i'm going to ask what code his lude is throwing because if it's 29 thats the sensor.....I don't want to be dishing money out for something stupid like this so i may not be getting the car.

Talked to the guy and swears it's the ecu due to the fact that the light just stays on and won't engage. He drives it 30 miles a day to work and doesn't ever have problems...tough call

get a lude without 4ws if u plan on making it fast, it is a hassle and has problems and is extra weight, it can be fixed but its hard to figure out i think, thats just my opinion i just bought a 92si 4ws and my 4ws light is on, ill figure it out this year and prob try resodering relays, i have a code 24 tho i believe. now i kind of wish i didnt have the 4ws caus of the problems, and weight but it is pretty ****** awesome to say ur car has 4ws haha later man
