i am trading the tenzo's i had for the last few years for a set of full race bars. i am setting the car up for t4 or sfwd, i need a seat, not necessarily with adjust-ability, the problem i was having with the tenzo's was i was hitting my helmet on the roof they sat up so high. i have no problems with a jaz bucket, or kirkey, i am a bigger person 5'7" 215 lbs. please help me. the seat needs to be compatible with a 5 pt harness obviously.

i have corbuea however you spell it forza's....they are cheap and get the job done. anything above 600 horsepower and they make your back hurt b/c there is a stupid metal support bar that you press up against under acceleration and its annoying.

Stock seats(I'd use teg seats insted of hatch seats though) are compatible w/ 5pts. and are legal as well. I have OE seats in my CRX and they work fine w/ the harness.

why not use a kirkey seat?

 

are kirkey seats legal in sportsman class"? i always thought they were, i guess it would have to be tied in to the bar?

 

the hatch seats have the weird post on the one side only. i dont know how the harness would fit over the top.

Go with the Kirkeys. The seats are cheap, light, and not to uncomfortable.

If I recall Ballard had stock CRX seats in his car.

 

i have kirkey and love them there actually not that unconfortable the newer cushions they offer are nice

 

Mikey, Im in the same boat as you. Im looking into the Kirkeys. As per nhra sfwd rules you need to have 2 matching covered front seats....so 2 kirkeys with their covers are good to go.
Del sol seats could be another way also. Those things sit lower on the floor, so they will give you more helmet room.

Has anyone installed some seats with the 5th support (required for a cage on the back of the seat) that's adjustable? I talked to my local chassis cert guy and he said that he sees a lot of the old muscle cars with a telescoping setup for adjustability there... anyone?

Sorry to change the topic, but what kind of brackets are being used to install the kirkey seats? Are they being fabbed or can you purchase brackets for civics.
