question for yoou bikers, every summer I get this great feeling to get a bike and go riding. I have minimal experience, but I do know I want a bike and have been feeling like selling my modded R for a bike preferebly a crotchrocket 600cc. My question is have any of you guys who were more into cars sold your car for a bike and have you loved it or regretted it. Any advice would help with my decision.
I sold my GS integra for an F4i. I'll never go back.
I get the same joys, if not more, out of riding a bike.
Also, i always felt like my car was slow, and spent too much money to try and make it fast, which ultimately failed. Every bike is fast enough for me, so i get to focus more on actualy rider skill. Something i didn't pay much attention to with my car (My 60' times are a testimate to this).
I drive a POS 86 truck, and my bike when it's nice out. I love the combo.

I had my engine rebuilt and turbo'd I took it out after it's beeen sitting for years and it's not the same and i'm not the same. I got different interests it seems these days, the car is nice but I want more that I think it can't offer that a bike would.
bikes are fun as ever. ive been riding dirt for 8 years and street for 1. I found street to get boring unless your doing something illegal. I stopped street because i had to do stupid stuff to get at thrill. im still all about dirt. i sold my bike to mod my gsr was it worth it? shouldve went turbo. i personally would keep the type r cuz u cant ride in winter, just a thought.
i guess it would all depend on your situation....some people are gonna say don't do it if its going to be your only mode of transporation.
for my situation, i'm selling my car to get a motorcycle. weather in dfw is pretty good year round. if i need a car, i can borrow one as four of my uncles/aunts & their sons just moved to the same neighborhood as me and they all have cars. But i plan to look for a cheap truck beater in the future.

I used to be a huge car freak. Sold it to buy a bike and I never regret it. I don't even care about cars anymore. It think it's a waste of time but thats just me. One bad thing about bike is their is a lot larger chance that your going to see one of your friend get killed. That's what happened to me and sold my bike to have a break. I think I'm ready again I will be looking to aquire a new bike next summer.

i LOVE cars, damn near lived for em. but i sold the prelude last summer and bought a bike with it (929rr). it was my first bike, and i also had minimal experience.
as long as you're responsible with it and don't go mobbin around like a dumbass before you are used to the bike at all you are going to LOVE IT!!!!
i missed the car at first, but every time you are on two wheels you'll completely forget about ur car.

Mine is months at a time. It will be parked in about a month hopefully and I won't drive it until november or so.

same
i think i was only the driver of a car like 8 times between mid june and late october last year
and those 8 times were because i was either A) moving stuff up here or B) had to drive a couple people around...... 4 wheels are overrated

I drove mine from june to november last year and I put on just over 6k. I worked and went to school so I wasn't able to go on any long-distance trips.

Gaw we need better weather in northern VA. I think it's silly to give up a car for a bike, you never know when you need to use the car. Grocery shopping, pouring rainy days, goin' out to bars with your friends, surf/snowboard trips, etc etc.
If you can do without a car then go for it. I did it for a while but since I live in Denver and needed a car for the winter, I just bought an old honda civic to get around.
I just picked up a 600RR this past saturday and I'm currently in the process of selling my S2k to pay off the bike(among some other things also). I haven't sold the car yet so I don't know exactly how I'll feel about it,but from riding the bike I don't think I'll regret doing it.I also plan on getting another S in a few months so maybe that's why it doesn't bother me to sell it.I also have a Jeep and a 97 hatch, can't just have a bike only, still gotta have a roof sometime
.
.
i recently sold my prelude and decided to buy a bike. its a move that i do not regret. but there are some things u should consider before doing this move.
1.) it depends on where u live, i live in florida so i can ride all year long.
2.) i live with my girl so i have a back-up car to use.
3.) if u dont have 1 or 2, do u have extra money to buy a beater car in case something doesn't work out.

I sold a 96 GSR and 00 JDM ITR GSR and bought a 91 Nissan Pathfinder 4x4. The truck is white with this weird goldish color on some parts of the bottom and some of it falls off sometimes, but all in all it gets me where i need to go. I also bought my R6.
So im a Beater Truck/ Bike guy too.
Youll have to pry the bike out of my cold dead hands to get it away from me, which, well, by the way i ride probably wont be to far out.
Ride Safe. I dont.
