Default 3rd gear pull

hey guys...i did a little searching for more torque and basically found that we dont have any...n/a. but my question is...i dynoed my car at 192 whp and i only have 148 torque....does that seem right? i did it on a 3rd gear pull...and someone said it would be lower at a 3rd gear pull..why is that? Thanks. Oh...I NEED MORE TORQUE!!!!!

You should have done it in 4th gear. It would have been more accurate of what your motor's really putting out. You have good compression? Clean injectors? Good fuel filter? Plugs? Wires? Cap? Rotor? All the little things can really cost you some power if you forget about them. And did you install your own cams? If you did, what did you torque them to? I over torqued mine at first (should have been 7, they were at 15) and I lost a noticeable amount of power

What kind of i/h/e are you using. That could lead us to draw more accurate conclusions.

well...i just changed the spark plugs and oil...but i think i had to replace some fuel injectors a couple of months after...they could've been going bad...and i've just got some dc headers and either 2.25 or 2.5 all the way through the exhaust...thanks for the replies...appreciate it...any more would be helpful....oh and the best time so far is a 14.6 in the quarter...i prolly need to go back and try the 4th gear pull and track again...

Something isn't right. JUN stage 3 cams should be making more power then that. And 14.6 isn't as quick as it should be

A dyno graph would be useful, but your results arn't completely unbelievable.

JUN IIIs and more compression would love a better flowing header than a DC.

You want to have a gear ratio as close to 1:1 as possible for the most accurate reading. You're making 192 peak in 3rd, so probably 185 in 4th, which is definitely low

i gained 13 whp from going from a 60 mm exh. from tanabe to a 2.5 in exhaust with 3 in. muffler. you need a better header also.
