Before my z6 swap my brakes were fine. Now after swap when driving the i have no brake pressure. But when the car is off the pedal is stiff as hell, I press it as hard as i can, dosent go down. But right when the car is started brake pedal pressure goes to ****, have to pump breaks to stop. Is this a booster or MC problem? I bleed the breaks too.

I have bleed brakes before, I pump the brakes while my friend opens and closes the bleeder valve on each tire starting with the rear passenger 1st, then driver front, read driver, lastly front passenger.

I just wondering if it could be the booster beacuse pedal goest straight to the ground when the car is started.

 

What did you swap? Just bleed them again, never can do it too much. Use a vacuum pump.

So did you even touch the brakes? Just bled them and now they suck? Weird. Like I said, get a vacuum pump and a couple of litres of fluid and just bleed the **** out of them, make sure you aren't leaking. If you're sure they're done right, might be time to get a new master cylinder. Someone on the resource posted a while back about how our MCs start to leak when the brakes are bled. His idea (not verified though) was that the cylinder is normally pressed to a certain distance in the bore on the MC, and when you bleed it and go further down, you break seals or something. Anyway, can't hurt to replace it, get a 15/16".

 

i have the same problem still havent fix it haha i think is master cylinder when is time to sto brake peadal goes all the way in. i even took it to a shop just to make shure they dint even know what was wrong but i will replace the master cylinder n let u know if worked

 

Yeah can't be bad to replace my MC, i have an extra 1" master cylinder from my spare parts EF, its prettey new too.

 

its more than likely the master cyclinder. i had a 93 buick lesabre that had the same problem. replaced the master cyclinder after checking with the buick shop manual i had said that was the problem. fixed it.

as for bleeding, i thought it was always passenger rear, driver rear, pass front, then driver front..

if i am wrong bout the bleeding let me know.. is it a universal thing, or a honda thing

Thats the way i did it until i took a look at a Helms Manual (always thought you had to do the farther wheel first). guess i was wrong.

 

Honestly, I think everyone does it different. My dad taught me farthest to nearest, but the manual says otherwise, and I think the Haynes manual differs from the OEM too. Anyway, make sure you bench bleed that 1" when you put it on, or you're going to spend a few hours trying to get all the fluid out. What is that MC from?

i just did ls swap same thing happened got a new master cylinder and bleed the brakes now it works fine. like you before the swap i did'nt have a problem.

 

are you 100% sure you reconnected the vac line to the booster. i know its a stupid question but sometimes we all then to over look the obvious.

and if you messed with that vac line did you break the valve or put it in backwards?
