Idiot tax (it's story time)
Gather round kiddies it's time for the story of the day!
Today we have a special treat! Two less than intelligent people have graced my service bay this week.
#1 This story goes as a warning to anybody that wants to do electrical modifications while still under warranty.
2006 Pilot EX-RES (EX model with rear entertainment) This guy just bought the car and brings it back in saying he cleaned the gauge cluster plastic with windex and cracked it. I'm already thinking "yeah right", he continues to say that there are some of the warning lights "glowing" in the corner of the cluster (not on or off but barely glowing), now I'm thinking "not a snowballs chance in hell". Sure enough the trim around the cluster is loose and there are clips broken on the cluster itself. So then WARRANTY DENIED. My best guess he was going to try and change the lightbulbs in the back of the cluster to change the color and messed it up. So modifying isn't so much a bad thing as long as you know what your doing. He had also installed non DOT approved high beam lights and who knows what else.
#2 This one is brought to you by CARMAX (if you don't know it's a huge used car lot that carries nearly every current make and model of car and light truck) They give us a LOT of work so I can't complain too much, but this one takes the cake. They ship an '04 civic 2dr to us saying "the passenger side door is not opening and closing properly" I get in and see the passenger door is bungee corded shut with the door lock actuator, door panel, and lock rods laying about the car. I get it in put it all back together (one hour of labor) Find the door is opening and closing perfectly and the door lock actuator is actually bad. (note it was already out and laying on the floor) So then I have to take it all back apart (another hour of labor), Install the new actuator and put the whole thing back together (an hour and a half of labor). When all they had to do is finish putting the thing back together or tell me the stupid actuator was what wasn't working in the first place.
Ok story time is over get outta here you brats.

Reminds me of the sigh I had on the top of my tool box.
"There's nothing more dangerous than a customer with a screwdriver"
Needless to say, the counter staff never brought a customer to my stall

On top of my toolbox is a picture that was in a signature i found here it's a millitary guy sitting behind a massive board of ***** and lights and the caption says "sensors indicate high levels of I don't know sh*t in the immediate area" I added a right pointing arrow indicating a better direction as to where the disturbance was detected. (the guy that works beside me)
Be careful. You may someday come to work to find a grease fitting sticking out of the side of your Top Box.
Did you know it takes about 15 minutes to fill one of those things???
