Default ram manifold-flange on first-

do you weld the head flange onto pipes first or weld all the pipping together and then lastly weld the pipe to the head flange...???

Wow, your being helpful.!

If your using BURNS collector, then you would tack them all together. Make sure fitment is nicely done, and the break off the welds at the head flange, and slide out from the burns collector, weld all 4 runners together, assembled, then lastly tack it onto the head flange, then weld whatever neccessary.

Why does it make a difference if you use a burns collector versus another collector? Is their steel special?

I said that because I am sure that there are people who do it both ways. It's a comfort issue.

burns has nice collectors, its easier to have it slip in and out. Makes things wayyyy much easier.

the reason why i am asking is because when the runners get welded... the head flange doesn't exactly line up anymore since when welding the runners actually shrink.... again meaning improper alignment. even if you have an awesome JEG after you properly weld the runners together and try to assemble the unit altogether before you weld the head flange to the runner...you'll notice an off alignment...

any other methods......

thx for the help so far...
