DIY Clutch Anyone?
I replaced the clutch and flywheel on my 95 accord myself. I dont have a link to a DIY, but it's not that hard. Drain the tranny fluid (I believe I did that first when I did this), drop the tranny, change clutch, put tranny back on ...
Yeah that pretty much sums it up...lol. Although I did it on my h22 on my 96 accord its the same. Not really a tutorial on it. You have the helms manual? Just take out a few bolts and take out the tranny. Putting it back on is a bitch though to get it lined up. Maybe its just the h22 that was hard but it sucked. Relatively easy though.
its always hard to line tranny up. bout to do this on my sis car. boost of confidance on how easy u guys make it sound. I have an RSX-S and ive done my clutch. was tough but easy at the same time.
Why was it so hard for you 2 to "line the tranny up" when re-installing? As long as you have the little plastic alignment tool that comes with clutch kit's (and you use it properly), you should have no problem with alignment. Can't count how many times I've dropped the tranny for one reason or another.
the manual tranny is really light in weight, so my best technique for lining up the tranny to the motor is to get under it and "bench press" it. im 5'6, 135lbs, and its pretty easy, everytime.
