Transmission/Clutch problems...Help
All right so the deal is I have a 88 CRX DX with the d15b2. I was pulling out the driveway of a parking lot and made it to about 15mph and the car just started reving. Would run in gear while the car was just sitting. Today I pulled the tranny and took it apart to find I demolished the diff. The bolt that goes through the spider gears i broke in 2, and countless peices of bearings and metal chunks
. So I'm in the market for a new transmission/clutch.
Here is my Q, I got a quote for a used 88 crx SI transmission for about 450 shipped to my house with about 35-45k on it. I'm almost postive i can use the Si tranny on the d15, isn't a diffrence? But what do i do when it comes to buying a clutch. i was looking at the ACT Street/Strip for 250. when buying, do i buy it for the SI model or the DX. Because one site i looked at said 190mm clutch for the DX and the other said 200MM for all crx's. If some one could please shead some light it would be great!

but he said the one he's getting has 35-40k on it! try to find that
your clutch might not need to be replaced. How old is it?
when u get the trans, make sure your CURRENT Clutch fits the splines (to confirm it's an 88 tranny). Then any 88 clutch should work. Dont forget to get the flywheel re-surfaced.

Yea this place deals with inported JDM engnies and transmissions. Trans are suppose to have around 35-45k. So weather or not i can find a SI or DX tranny chaper Im stuck getting it from there.
My question still remains, If I get a Si Transmission, what would i buy the clutch for? The Stock D15, or for a motor from the Si's d16? And yes the clutch needs to be replaced it was worn down to the rivets(sp), and yes i know to resurface the flywheel. I want to replace the clutch with a ACT Street/strip.
Thank you..

now that my server is working I can post this.
Clutches are specific to the transmission. If the tranny is an 88 then buy one for an 88. SI, DX, HF, etc are all the same clutch.
