what tranny is that

i cant tell for shure, but i think thats a Electronic VSS(Speed Sensor)

if thats what it is you will need to take it out and get a Cable VSS and plug you speedo cable into it

or get a different Gauge cluster and Wire up the Electronic VSS

The transmission is a y1 with lsd. I thought that this transmission had the gear driven speedo

yes that is an electric speedo. If you want ot swap in a cluster from a newer integra or civic 92 and up then that speeedo will work. If you are going to use your stock crx custer then you need to get a cable speedo from any88-91 civic/crx.

well you're gonna need to run the wire from the this receptacle to the SiR gauge cluster, as i'm sure your USDM EF gauge cluster isnt electronic vss ready..

replacing the VSS is much easier. plus its fun to burry the needle on the stock ef gauge!..lol

the VSS from your stock SI tranny will fit.. just swap them..

I just took the top part of the electric vss off. this will allow you to use you exisiting cable. Keep the top part in case you ever want to wire in the sir cluster.

I used mine this way for 2 years without any trouble.

i think there are more than one speed sensor.. but this one he has i dont think it is possible, i just did a swap last month (b16a into civic with y1 tranny) and it had the same VSS as this guy, but it wasnt possible to use the cable..
