Default Best Jacket for Summer riding?

I am new to the motorcycle world. I am trying to get a jacket. Today, I went to the motorcycle shop, and all the sales representatives there told me that they wear textile jackets.

I however want to get Leather Jacket. After reading, I think Perforated Leather Jacket is better.

How does Perforated Leather Jacket compare to Solid Leather Jacket? is it adequate protection for the average rider?

Can anyone recommend a good buy for about $200-$250-$300?
I am looking on some of Joe Rocket products (beacause I tried them on in the store and know I wear size 44). Can anyone recommend other brands or models that I can look into?

I liked my Frank Thomas leather jacket way more than my dianese mesh jacket. The perferrated panels kept me cool on 80 degree days.

i have an alpinestars dyno leather jacket and it vents pretty well. just unzip the vents on the shoulders, and the elbow and it keeps you quite cool when you're out riding. the biggest problem with summer riding is when you're stuck in traffic not going no where. thats when it can get hot as hell no matter if you're in a leather jacket or in t-shirt and shorts.

Ah man Im in the same boat. I've got a decent sturdy textile jacket (AlpineStars T-dyno), but I know it's too thick for the summer. I'm looking for a lightweight jacket. I've got a Joe Rocket mesh jacket for the passenger, and I think the mesh keeps things cool. It's got plenty of armor as well, so should be sufficient.

does anyone have any reviews on the perforated leather jacket? I see some joe Rocket ones on Ebay for $179. That seems a bit low. What do you guys think?

What do you guys think of this jacket? This is the one I am thinking of getting

Teknic Chicane w/ perforated leather for me, i love it.

yes its leather so it gets hot, but i'd rather be sweaty than have to get a skin graft. But thats just me, i'll never wear mesh.

newenough.com has some awesome prices
