87 crz having cutting out prblems
I got a 87 civic crx the other day for $250...it has a 12 valve EFI motor in it, i heard was out of a 87 crx Si. When i got it the friend i got it from said it wasn't running good and it didn;t...it was cutting out bad, the fuel filter was so clogged u couldn;t blow through it..so i got a new one of those, ran better but still no the best. After that i found a large crack in the rubber tube that went from the fuel filter to the firewall, so i fixed that. It wouldn;t even start when i got it home from the friends...it was actin all funny and it was that line, when i fixed that it ran ok for like 15 minutes then started cuttin out kinda bad again. Changed the plugs (Autolite 63's). Ran really good for like a day, then when i took it to school this morning it was kinda cuttin out again..specially when i was gettin up to highway speed. When i was trying to take it home on the back roads, it died i think 4 times cause it did not like going up hills at all...but would cruise on flat land. The fuel pump is not in the gas tank like i heard most other crx's where..it is external. I think it is makin some odd noises while my car is goin. I had my dad look at it today and he said he can hear a vaccuum leak somewhere, so i tried disconnecting some of my vaccuum lines and it didn;t really affect it all that much. Im kinda new to these japanese cars...i had 83 ford ranger b4 this and the tranny went out on it about a month ago so i got this. not sure what is wrong with it, have any ideas?
On HT there are not that many 1st Generation CRX owners. I highly suggest going over to http://www.redpepperracing.com who specialize in 1st gen CRXs and 3rd gen Civics. Those guys over there really know their stuff and can be a lot more helpful than some of the 1st gen members on HT. No offence guys.

when my fuel pump went out(87 Si) it ran fine one min, and after i turned it off, it wouldnt start
if your looking for a vaccum leak the eazyest way is to start the car, let it idle and pop the hood and start spraying Carberator Cleaner around all the vaccum lines, 1 at a time, spray around the Throttle Body gasket, and Intake Manifold gasket also, spray and listen for a change in idle if you have a leak it should rev up, keep spraying that spot untill you find your vaccum leak

There is also a cone shaped screen that sits in the inlet pipe of the fuel pump. Pull off the inlet hose going to the pump from the gas tank and it'll be either inside the metal pipe or sticking out or the rubber hose. If you fuel filter was that clogged then the pickup screen inside the gas tank might also be clogged. Just be sure to check that there is adequate fuel flow after that cone shaped screen and ALL fuel filters are cleaned/replaced.
well...i dont think the fuel pump is going out cause when i took out the hose from the filter to the firewall there was alot of pressure and gas sprayed all over the place...could it be a o2 sensor or maybe a MAP sensor?

just went and checked the cap and rotor...they seem to be workin right...the fuel pump is working right...the timing is not off...could it be a sensor and if it is how much are they for like a 02 sensor of a MAP sensor
i finnaly got the code reader for m car..it is code 13 and it says the Atmospheric Pressure sensor is bad, so i went to the parts store and they said they cant find one, so they called up the honda dealership and they said they cant find one either...they said if i could get the part and bring it to em they can get the part for meh most likely...does anyone know where it is located at in m car or possibly where i can get it online?
