i just installed my apex'i ws.
the exhaust sounds nice! it has a nice deep bass sound when starting off and at around 3k rpms. when you shift and the rpms drop it gets a deep bass sound. when i get down on it i can hear the intake over the exhaust. i had a stock muffler on the car with a 2 1/4" b pipe from a muffler shop. with all of my previous exhausts i could hear the vtec changover because i had no resonator in the bpipe. with the ws i do not hear the changeover anymore.
car is a 97 gsr
picture of the exhaust on the car isnt so great cause i finished putting it on kinda late.
considering painting the can flat black. i did this with my previous 5zigen border exhaust (the muffler eventually crapped out on me) and it looked nice.

 

Those cruch bends are HORRIBLE! Im glad you got the new one!

lol, how much does a ws go for these days? how does it's sound compare to the SP?

 

my fiance has a greddy sp on her crx. and the ws on my car seems slightly louder than the sp on her car. and i think its a bit louder than a friends sp on his teg ls. thats the best comparisons i can give ya. never heard an sp on a gsr before.
i think the ws goes for around 400 not sure though. got mine used.

 

i've seen the ws for about 350-380 and the sp for 430-460.

Q. ~do you like the quality and fit of the WS?

 

i think it is the same piping cause the n1 bolts right up to the ws piping. monday i will try to bolt my friends n1 rear section onto the car.
it is a vey nice exhaust. fit was pefect (unlike the greddy sp i put on the crx...).

 

Was there anything tricky in the installation? I'm thinking of going with the Apex-I WS for my '94 GSR, but just want to be sure there are no hidden gotchas in the installation process.

nothing tricky about installation at all. removal of the old exhaust was the worse part.

 

what's the inside diameter of the piping on the WS? I saw on a site that its 60-90mm depending on application. Isn't 60mm 2.5"?

 

60mm translates to almost exactly 2.4" I THINK

that looks just like the way my 5zigen border looked. i painted it black too. people thought i had a stock muffler with a welded on tip. im thinking about doing the same to the ws.
