94 n 95 r the best year due to their obd 1.....ease of tuning.....honestly the 95 is the best year becuz its 90-110 lbs lighter.....still most gsr r the same in about everything except some changes in the 99-01 model...hope this help out a little...

For lazy people. Looks like 94-97 GSRs were all 2667 then in 98-99 they were 2665 and 2000 it was 2672. Doesn't show 01.

Downside to having a 94-95 gsr... Big *** ABS Unit, lots of sound detening (spelling) material underneath the carpet, car is already over 10 years old meaning more and more things are starting to rattle as the years go on. Yes obd 1 has its benefits over the obd2 models, but as for being faster, I dont think thats 100% true in some cases. I think there was a big thread about the difference between the obd1 and the obd2 tegs...i'll try searching for it.

i have to agree with this from personal experience. when i first drove the 94 gsr stock from my sister, i never felt any teg that pulls me so hard when secondaries hit. in stock form, my 94 would smoke a 95, and all obd2 gsr's also

This always weirded me out. I've heard the 3rd gen GSRs are around 2670, which is what most places say, but kid I know has a 94-95 GSR and it weighed like 2470 w/ a turbo kit and w/o the 'trunk junk'. Weird.
