Default vafc reading one rpm while my tach reads another

My vafc1 is not reading the same rpm as the tach in my car at all. At idle the vafc will read around 600-700 while my tach reads about 1000-1100, while at 7000 rpms on my tach my vafc will read around 3500 rpm which is a real big difference and I hear my engine winding out so obviously its not at 3500 rpms lol.

any ideas fellas?

strange. sounds like a problem i saw with this kid that had a big aftermarket tach and it did the same thing. turns out he cut the wire on the back and had it setup for a v8 instead of his b16. lmao. im not sure if there are settings lije that in the vafc but you may wanna check and make sure its set for 4 cylinders instead of 6 or 8

The Tach can be up to 500rpm off, espically at higher RPM.

The Idle RPM sounds right, the car should idle at 750, so that is close. However the 7000 rpm sounds really bad. I would guess you have it set up for a v6 or something. The RPM should be close to the tach.

Yours sounds way off up high. Did you splice into the RPM wire going into the ECU? or somewhere else?

Typically the VAFC is more accurate than stock, but yours sounds way off.

check what championshipwhite93si said its probably one of your settings that tells the vafc the number of cylinders
