Default will my b18b 89 civic CX be guttless on the highway????

I've been searching about this topic night and day. I can't get too much of a straight answer.
I like the idea of more torque from the b18b since I'm used to a Saab 900 turbo w/ 160hp and 188tq I didn't have to gear down to pass cars. I realize the b18b will likely beat a b16 vtec of the line and below 80mph, but I don't want a car that just blats and goes nowhere when I try to play up around the 100mph + range.
I read on one website that the b18 hit 140hp at 5800rpm there abouts, but then falls to 90hp at the redline...that sucks. Is this true??
I going to pick up the 93 teg any day now. The motor will be rebuilt and P&P before it goes in. Maybe that will give me better top end.

What I need is some person experiences with the b18b in 4th gen civics.

I had a stock b18a1 in an 88 crx and it didnt have much pick up after about 80mph in 5th gear.
