how much should i pay for type R cams for my 2000 GSR or sohuld i just buy like a skunk2 cam. i'm looking to turbo my car after i finish the interners. i want to know which cam is best for my sitution and how much should i pay for it?

 

if your going turbo, leave the stock cams in.

 

Either leave the stock ones in or do the type r cams. Do not go with any thing else because thay are not as strong as the acura cams. Other cams with wear much quicker.

 

I went with sk2stg1 cams. I found myself a lil lean on the vtec cross over. Which means injectors were needed.

sk2stg1 cams are smog legal. You can find them new for $545 shipped.
Sk2's are a bit more agressive the the itr cams.


If your looking to turbo the car, you will make more power with the gsr cam then either the sk2/itr cams. More time for the air to compress giving you more power. I am going to swap my stock cams in when I finally go fi as well. Looking to build my gsr to 400hp.

 

most turbo gsr's always run the oem cams. even ls-vtec turbo cars prefer the gsr cams. stick with your oem cams.
