maintenance Rquired AGAIN?
Hey when i bought my car at 120k the maintenance Required thing turned orange.
i drained coolant, new spark plugs and wires, oil change and stuff. and now at 142
it turned to orange again why is this? and what does a full maintenance Req
consist of? i was thinkin of bleeding my brake/clutch system but it looks to
complicated to mess with lol also i need to change the fuel filter but it is a biatch to
reach it. do i need to have the car on a lift or can i just do it with all four wheels on
the groud? and is the maintenance req. thing like on a milage timer? like after evey thousand miles it will indicate it?

Yes it is a mileage timer. It will turn red/orange at 6500 miles, or whatever it says in the manual, it's pretty vauge if I remember. Something like "at 6k miles it will turn yellow then red"
The maintaince Required" indicator will advance at 7500 mile intervals. IE:
7500
15000
22500
30000
37500
and on, and on, and on....... ad nausium
If you reset yours at 120,000m, it's working correctly. IE:
120000
127500
135000
142500 - Doink!

that damn light is so annoying. even when i tune-up the car (oil change etc) the light still stays on. so i had to reset the light. if you dont' know how to do that...what you do is put the key on the II possition, hold the reset key on your cluster, turn the key to the 0 possition, turn the key back to the II possition, hold the reset button for about 15 seconds, and then the light should turn off. this is assuming you have a 6th gen. i dont' know if they are all the same.
lmao sounds complicated but on mine you just stick the key in the guage cluster slot lol and it goes back to green and it aint a light its some colorful wheel i suppose lol
That all depends on how well the maintenance was kept up before you bought it. If it was kept up to date I would go by what the manual says for your particular mileage. If it wasn't, and you have no idea what was done, or not done. You have some exploring to do. This all should have been done BEFORE you started buying intakes, exhausts, and tubonators. Do you know when the timing belt was changed last?

How about opening your owners manual and looking at the maintence section and seeing what the table says should be replaced/checked. Doing nothing would be even more stupid than the altezza tail lights and the 5 1/2" exhaust tip that you've got.

How about me telling you that i do not have it, and since you feel like such a big man about "trying" to call me out on the 4.5 exhaust and i no longer have the altezzas on there. Never the less did i ask for ur fckin comment. fcking tough guy. i asked for helpful advice not attitude from someone who acts like their fckin 13.

Well when i bought the car the girl had the timing belt changed at 119k and she barly drove the car. she always had it parked because she had a 98 volvo and a 2004 accord. i've done the basics like : valve cover gasket, flushed coolant,on time with the oil changes mobile 1 only, brakes, rotors, fuel injector cleaner, and fixed the surging problem and so on. The intake was already on the car when i purchased it i just bought the air bypass valve for it. and according to dick head about my "5.5 inch tip exhaust" it was either but an exhaust at car V2 for like a couple hundred or get a custom exhaust from a muffler shop that wont last as long? so i jumped on the other exhaust and to correct his ignorance its a 4.5
Before it had a custom exhaust (from muffler shop) with a 2 3" dual pipes on the Magnaflow muffler the exhaust was installed in (late 1998, i have the record) and last year the midsection completly rusted out and it looked like trash so i decided to this time get a real exhaust then a custom (dont get me wrong some other muffler shops do decent jobs but the ones around me
and they'll charge an arm and a leg.)

I would follow the owner's manual maintenance for severe driving conditions. Except for the trans fluid (every 15,000 miles if it's an auto) and the engine oil (every 3,000 miles).

mmm does that mean i should replace the powersteering fluid? and the brake fuild? also i herd mobile 1 has a line out oil change is required after 15k guarenteed protection should i buy into that ? (never in a cold day in hell will i let my accord past 3500 with out an oil change lol) and what about mobile 1 clean pro? i know im not too good with engine oils i usually buy 10w-30 but last time i got 5w-30 and recently its been like between 40-60 degress up in the North east and it hasnt snowed so im not sure which one to stick with? i got 142k on my engine and it drive pretty damn powerful might need a valve adjusted but no biggie ill get to it when it gets warmer.

sorry, just taking my information straight off your website where it clearly says that you've got a 5.5" exhaust tip. it probobally hasn't been updated in a while. I wasn't trying to offend you, but rather sarcastically stating how stupid it would be to do no preventative maintence on your vehicle.
it is not that i "prevent" it just that im not sure what other services to do. i had already state what i've done and i didnt know if it was time to do it again. because after 20k it turned to orange again, maybe it was time to do something diff. the only thing i have not done is is the clutch/brake fluid and power steering flush.
