What is wrong with my freaking cooling system?
Ok, over the past couple months i've been having bad overheating problems. I've replaced the radiator and hoses, and replaced the thermostat twice and still i get the same problem.
After maybe 3-4 days randomly my car will start rev'ing between 1-2g if i'm parked or in neutral, and shortly there after it overheats and coolant goes spraying everywhere from the tranny/thermostat area (pic below). I can't figure this out for the life of me. It's like the thermostat is stuck closed i'm guessing, but i've replaced it twice.
I'm running a JDM D15B motor and using the 92-95 z6 thermostat, i'm assuming this is the correct one? Do i need to prep the thermostat in any way before installing it? Help me out

^ pic of the thermostat housing and below that on the top side of the tranny is where alot fo coolant is running down.

Coolant would not be spraying anywhere unless you had a hole in something. Have you checked the smaller bypass lines that run to the heater core and TB?
after i pop the hood when it overheats there's always a ring of coolant around the t-stat housing. I would assume it's coming from there but i don't get how if i've repalced the damn thing twice already? should i be using the b7 t-stat or z6? both times i've replaced it was with the z6 t-stat.

try using better clamps not the screw ones. or sue a heat gun over radiator to look for cool spots might be clogged
Your radiator cap should let the pressure go before enough builds up to force coolant past a clamp. You need to find the leak before you start assuming that you have other problems like a clogged radiator.
Id make sure the T.stat was working at all (dunk in hot water, watch for it to work).
Then Id let it run with the rad cap off for awhile after it warms up (this will burp the coolant and remove air - probably cause of the jumping idle).
Are the clamps tight enough? (theres nothing wrong with that type of clamp either...)
