Is there anything else done to the engine? You need to be more specific on what information you give when you ask questions.

replaced the head gaskate, manifold gaskate, exhaust gaskate and ported the head..
when i told my friend he said that you'll car will gain more power now because when you port the head the compression gets higher!
so i was wondering if somebody ported his head over here and noticed any difference!!

Take a camshaft or something and smack him upside the head with it. A port job will NOT raise compression

It will help the head flow better if done correctly... ie: not just taking a dremel to it and going to town. And when he asked if you had done other things to the motor, he didn't mean gaskets... he meant fuel mods or header/intake/exhaust, and more importantly valvetrain stuff... and then TUNING.

Tuning would be the key to realize full gains of any porting... but from the sounds of it... your setup doesn't have those things.

Try putting on a intake or headers before u do something stupid like trying to port your head. Your may be losing power if u didnt port it right. Porting is a science...

general a good port job + tune will increase power.

a first time head porting job with lack of research will not =P

you had a port job done, YES you will have small gains.
to get good use of a better breathing head you have to give it more air, intake manafold. you have to have it be able to excape better, exhaust headers. by this time you will be putting your port job to good use.
