please answer my ? this time
k i ask not too long ago about if i have a type R engine in a ls is it safe to shift at 8 cuz i know the type R redlines at 8. and please no hating. all i want is a simple yes or no
I think type R's revv to 9300 at the fuel cutoff. (someone correct me if I'm wrong). I shift my b16 @ 8400, so I don't think 8000 in a type r will hurt it at all.

The B18C5 ITR has a fuel cutoff at 8400RPM. You have been corrected.

ok, why would u even do a swap if you don't know that much about it? just because it's hype r? honestly people, what happened to doing research and actually knowing what ur car can do. geez.

Quite simply, yes. I assume that you have a P73 ECU.

i didnt do the swap. i bought the car like this. and im tryin to learn as much as i can bout it. and where is the ground soppose to be at? and the ecu say 95 civic on it. not quite sure why. maybe someone can help me out on that.o and the ecu is chipped.
even still, would you date a girl not knowin anything about her? props on trying to learn tho. There's a bit more info that we're gonna need to be able to help you. 1) what year is ur car, 2) what ecu is it? U mentioned that the ecu had 95 writen on it. If this is the case i'll assume its a chipped p28 and u have a 94-95 ls or a 96+ with a ecu jumper harness. Either way, u should be fine going to 8400. If the engine does indeed have hype r componets (valvetrain) u should be good to 9300. However, in stock form the c5 powerband starts to drop off past 8400 so i wouldn't go higher anyway. Just because it can go that high doesn't mean you should
Inspect your ecu closer and see if you can find a code. Have you tried revving past 8k rpm?
Also, check the code on the left of engine block just down from the exhuast manifold, I am now curious if it is actually a b18c5.

just check the engine code on the block to make sure
