Default 2001 Honda Prelude Speakers

Any sugguestions on front speakers and amp for 01 prelude? I am looking toward Infinity speakers. For amp, the price range is $200-$500. I currently have Kappa 693.7i for back speakers. Haven't installed it yet, but hope it fits.

Thanx

I have the kappa components in the front and they are just a tad 2 deep for the space on the main woofer, so i had to use a spacer. On the rear the kappa's fit right in, just remember to bypass the acoustic feedback black box or you wont get any sound in the back.

kappas are really great speakers.. you should get kappas all around, but infinitis are really bright speakers (known 4 their highs) so you might want to get a small sub to compliment that effect. most subs are easily removeable so if you need the trunkspace or whatever its just a simple clip. let me know if you have any questions

infinity's are nothing special. they are average at best. Mb quart premiums will sound far better. pce-213 will fit in the factory location without modification or spacers.

Are the PCE213 front or rear speakers?

Where is the acoustic feedback black box located? any pictures? One of my rear speakers has been out ever since I bought the car from the previous owner, and just crossed my mind when you mentioned that.

Thanks

It is a small black box located under the speaker deck, i think mine was on the passenger side. it was about 2 x 4 x 5 with a harness on either side.. you can follow the speaker wires back to it if you are unsure. I basically had to cut the harness off the side coming from the head unit and butt connect it it took me a while to find out which were the right wires but here is what I have set up:

Grey/white (-) Blue/Yellow (+) - Driver side speaker

Brown/white (-) Red/Orange (+) - Passenger side speaker

Thanks for the info... turns out it was a problem with the way the previous owner re-installed the deck. Just installed my new Alpine HU today, and ta-da... rear speakers working.

Anyway, I'm also going to be looking for a nice set of front comps, I was considering the Infinity Reference comps until I heard them in person, and they do sound very crisp and bright, but not enough low end as Royal Kannon mentioned. Any other nice comp suggestions for the lude?
