I do it for $250 for clutch and flywheel, and $100 for the FD (when the trans is out of the car), so $350 for everything.

Too bad I'm in CA . . .

Depending on where you live and if it is an Acura dealer, it is probably a reasonable price. For example, I would not be suprised if a Bay Area dealer asked close to $1000. Hell, a local Mazda dealer wanted $700 to install a new clutch in my 1995 Miata.

$75 = helms manual
$35 = 2 cases of beer for you and a couple of friends
learning how to work on your own car = priceless

do it yourself, it's that much more enjoyable...some of the best things about your car are doing the upgrades yourself!

It can definitely be done at home w/ Helm's manual, but the cost of me getting all the "right parts" to do the job would cost about the same as a friend (Honda technitian) doing it right the first time (under the table cost). I personally don't think I have enough tools... definitely ain't cutting it w/ one torque wrench and Home Depot special 50 piece tool kit.

$500. to $700. seems to be the range for an install.

Mine cost $650. from a reputible race shop.

It also all depends on where you are located in the country.

Come on Cossie... the stuff is not that expensive... Except the torque wrench which you can rent... And buying a decent tool set from say... Sears... can't be very expensive in the US.. Here in Canada you can get sales and pay $89.00 for the basic socket and wrench set... And you should have these for your tool box even if you don't normally work on cars... I'd say the tools and manual would be about 2/3 the price of having the instal done for you... But when the job is done you will still have all of thge tools for the next job

And if you are somewhere warm, then the job would be all the more enjoyable...

If Pooface and I can do it on our backs beside a graveyard in an open carport in the dead of a Canadian winter... anybody can do it...

I don't think Hooptie has a teck friend who works half price or he wouldn't be asking us for help

air tools aren't that expensive, its getting a good compressor that is $$$...

to do the final drive you need a gear puller, which isn't too expensive, your basic socket set....
