Default Bottom end ideas for my GSR block...

Well i just bought a GSR bottom end for my 2000 civic SI and was thinking about dropping in some oversized ITR pistons and rings, the GSR rods, and an ITR crank. Anyone have a setup somewhat like this? if not what are some other ideas for this block. LS crank for more torque? different pistons? Just wanted some ideas really... reason being.. trying to build the block without braking the bank. Shoot me some ideas if you wouldnt mind!

does the bottomend include internals? if so just use the gsr crank, if not get some itr rods. you can go ls but you have to consider your goals. whatever you do. do it right with some arp studs and rod bolts and everything new like sealings and bearings! good luck and have fun

What your doing is a poor mans type r. Alot of people do this.

If you have a GSR crank use it, same with the rods (unless the block spun a rod then toss it all) and put the ITR pistons on it.

poor mans type-r will make good power, altough not type-r level, you don't have the cams, intake, header and some little bowlwork from standard. but if you're serious about building, none of this should be a problem cause you would replace it anyway. so when you get a good intake, stage 2 cams (need springs and retainers) 11+ c/r (easily to get with thin hg, flatfaced valves or some shaving) and a good header exhaustcombo you're gonna go towards 200whp with some good tuning. so yes poormans type-r can make some good power!

it's reasonable cheap to do, because once you got the bottomend done along with the desired c/r, the rest is almost bolt-on and can be done at a later time(time to save up)
