Default Pistons for b18c1

I have a b18c and I want to install new pistons and rods je piston and eagle rods. I just want to know if I can take the stock pistons rods out and stick the forged ones in if you cant do that what mods do I need. I want to know if I can stay at 81mm and put the forged pistons in. thanks for any help that you guys can give!

hello dd, hahaha. I can only laugh or I would cry.....

It turns out the aftermarket forged pistons will not fit the stock GSR rods because
the pins are diff. static OEM pins vs aftermarket floating pins. So you have to choose your path = All OEM Honda or street pistons and rods.
Now, since I am a rockhead I have 2 different items available.
1. Eagle GSR forged rods, slightly used under 10K mileage- cleaned and ready. This set comes with brand new ARP bolts shipped to you for $225. I can send you pics.
2. HONDA OEM Type R piston set (still in box) = pistons/ pins/ rings = shipped to you for $180.

I am not going to use the fat big end GSR rods because I have chosen to use the LS crank. I am offering the new HONDA Type R piston set because they won't fit the Eagle rods. hahaha!!!!!!
I have no brain. Just a rock. My items are priced to help you. fobile missile.

yah, dont mess with trying to stick a floating piston design on a stock rod, even though ive done it....might as well stick with a stock piston like pr3's, p73's, or pct's. but if you wanna stick with stock rods, make sure a machine shop puts em in for ya.

The correct thing to do is have the cylinders inspected. If they are out of spec you will need to go with an oversize piston (that's why they make them). At the very least you will need to have the cylinders hone so the new rings will seat properly. You will also need to measure the rod bearing clearance.

check to make sure cylinder=wall clearance is ok for the forged piston and hone the rods and put in the proper bearings.

on a similar note...I have a B18C1 as well, however, I have an LS crank, eagle rods, arias pistons (turbo)...I was planning on swapping the arias for a set of PR3s or P30s...can I just put the pistons onto the eagle rods?
OR will that not work?

Thanks
Vic

you can still use the stock rods with forged pistons
i did that on my b18c1 block
i used Je pistons with the GSR rods.
you have to let the machine shop compress the pins
trust me it will work

the brand doesnt matter if youre going turbo or all-motor-compression is a big deal though. nice work on the oem mini stroker though.
