Default how to tune on they dyno?

I currently have an AEM FPR, soon to be installed VAFC, and Titan cam gears (thanks Wes). In what order would i tune these parts? Would timing be done initially and then adjust cam gears and dyno tune it? Thanks

first do a baseline to get an idea of whats going on. Then check to see if everything is in with semi-spec. Then slowy make adjustments to each area while keeping eveything balanced. Like don't just mess with one item like the S-afc then afterwards start messing with the timing. You need to make small adjustments in all of them to keep them with in range other wise you will just keep having to adjust each item over and over as you do each item one by one.

Also keep an eye on the power and trq curve and see whats its doing with each adjustment rather then just looking at the air/fuel curve. The power/trq curve says a lot about how much timing is needed or not needed as well as how much fuel pressure, etc... to run.

First adjust Fuel Pressure in 2-3 psi intervals...where you lose power use the VAFC to remove fuel, then play with the cam gears, then play with the Fuel Pressure just a little...VAFCplay with the vtec now...look at the wideband and make changes with the VAFC for additional fuel where needed(of the fpr again)

These are just a ver basic outline...I'm sure that there are a few tuners that could give you some more specific directions.

I'd do it differently.

Make a pass at 0,0 cam gears, 16 degrees timing, stock fuel, stock electronics.

Start advancing intake came, set dist timing to 18. Make a pass at every degree of advance until power stops increasing.

Then go to exhaust cam, might be advance, might be retard, might be best at zero, make passes in both directions till power stops.

Now that the cam gears are set, move to fuel, most likely you will raise it. Raise it 2lbs per dyno pull, stop raising when power increases stop coming.

Now you have fuel, cam gears, timing all set. Then move onto electronics (which I don't believe in). But, hop in the car, play with your gadgets and monitor power increases/decreases with different fuel settings. But you will *not* need to adjust engine parts at this point, they're set. Good luck, let us know how it goes.

cool guys thanks for the responses.

Louis: i had the basic idea of tunning the car as you mentioned. I have had a baseline dyno run but will do when i am on the dyno again to tune everything.
