Default Lights flickering at night...

I just bought a 90 CRX Si Saturday off my parents. Car is in very nice shape. It had been sitting undriven for about the last year. When we went to start it the battery was totally dead. We charged it and it seems fine but last night while driving it to work I noticed the lights flickering, both head and interior. Could this be alternator or battery problem. I thought might be battery as it's older. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!

battery or alternator....swing by an autozone or napa and they will check both for free.

Pick up a cheap multimeter if you want to diagnose it yourself, good investment.

Check your grounds. There are 3 ground wires, 1 on the valve cover, one one the tranny and one on the thermostat housing just behind the distributer. Be sure they are all clean and tight. Hondas need GOOD grounds.

I dont think it could be the battery because once you start the car the alternator takes over everything electrical unless the load is exceeded for the alternator then the battery helps it out. Its probably something in the alternator. like said above check all the connections. You said it sat for a year so it might need replaced. they dont usually rebuild them anymore

Battey is a definate possibility, i had a similar problem with another vehicle, not a honda, i thought it couldnt be the battery, because it always had enough juice to start, slowly but surely the battery ended up taking a crap. I replaced it and now no more flickering problems or dim lights. Good luck.

Thanks everyone...I'll take a look at them tomorrow...She's already on the disabled list as is a crack in the plastic tank part of the radiator...So looks like I'll be replacing that now...I figured I'd have to put some $$$ into it anyways...Only paid $900 for the Rex...She's in great shape otherwise...
