save up for a nice suspension setup. you'll be happier in the end

if you want a decent ride on the super budget, get a set of springs with a mild spring rate to use on your stock struts without hassle for a while until you can afford some koni's. (like tein s-tech's for example...with spring rates under 200, they ride great on my stock shocks on the miata). then after you have the konis youcan drop it lower with those springs using the adjustable perches, and if you want to go even lower at anytime after that and have more agressive spring rates to go with those nicer koni shocks, order some ground controls with custom spring rates.

if you go lower then that either way your sacraficing ride quality... which either way will be ver poor becasue ebay coilovers are horrable and omnipowers dumped on stocks will be jsut about as bad
Compared to the no-name coilovers, you might as well cut or heat your own stock springs. They'll ride about the same.
In my opinion, a suspension setup should be a one-time-buy, and one should never be cheap on it. You should select a set-up based on the kind of driving the car is used for. There's no need to buy a $1500 coilover set-up if the car is a highway daily driver. Make sure you pick a reputable brand and you should be ok.

Kyb Gr-2 shocks are only a REPLACEMENT FOR OEM SHOCKS. So if you're gonna go on gr-2s you might as well save your money and just put them on your stock shocks, because if they aren't blown, it's almost the same thing.
