So yesterday I was coming home on the highway and my check engine light comes on and flashes. i pulled over and my car was sputtering at a stop. and idle's real low. advanced/Autozone was closed already so i parked it for the night..this morning i went to advanced and tested my OBD2 sensor and the results were:

P0303 CYLINDER 3 MISFIRE

P1399(pending) manufacturer control ignition system or misfire

I replaced the spark plugs but that did nuthing.
Anyone have any idea or seen or heard of anyone having P0303 and fixed it?
after searching there were no real answer.
Any help is appreciated.

I had a cylinder 3 misfire not too long ago and I replaced the plugs, wires, dizzy cap and rotor, fuel filter and PCV valve on it and it solved it no more CEL.

anyone else..please. im taking it to a shop now but its only a muffler shop they wont know anything...really need someones advice

 

I could be wrong but I would think that it's probably something with the Distributor (maybe a new cap and rotor would fix it). Other possibility could be the ECU I guess but I'm not sure.

that happened to me a few days ago my number 3 spark plug wire was falling off the dizzy!!!

 

I had this problem for so long. And failed Emisions becasue of it.

so what i did was replace the cap, rotor, plugs and wires with OEM replacement parts. Still the light came on.

So i got frustrated and took it to Acura. They told me it was a "dummy light" and that they would fix this problem. Then a few days later the light came on again. Took it back to them and they switch the injectors aroung. light never came back on.

try switching the injectors around. worked for me

 

pull out the spark plug for cylinder #3 and see the condition.
if it has carbon deposits is electrical misfire.
change the cable, cap and rotor. maybe the cap tooth inside the cap is broken.
if yu see oil is something else....

 

check all the electrical and if nothing works out
next step will be fuel injectors

 

check all ignition parts and could be ecu or maybe even be a bad valve(i have seen it before) Can do a simple compression test to rule that out. Good Luck
