Default How to pass inspection with coilovers???

Well, i just got my 95 cx hatch has catback 2 1/4 exhaust, CAI, and N1? coilovers all around. Inspection failed the previous owner for the front passenger shock being "blown" but its not. Its just coilover suspension. How do i adjust the shock to make it pass and if i cant do that what should i do to make the suspension pass. How hard and how much would it be to temporarily put a stock suspension on the car just for inspection purposes? I also have one other problem. The SRS airbag light is on(guessing theres no airbag in it). How do i get this to go off so i pass. Thanks in advance.

What difference does it make if the suspension is coilovers or not. If the shock is blown replace it.

To make the SRS light go out, put an airbag(s) in it.

im not sure where you took it but coilovers wont make you fail inspection. Also, having blown shocks shouldnt make you fail either its just an uncomfortable ride. I had an old pickup with both rear shocks blown and it passed, they just wrote a note saying they were bad. It'll be a bitch to just put stock springs back on.. you'll need to get or borrow a spring compressor. For the SRS light.... does your horn still work? usually when your SRS light is on your horn wont work which will fail inspection for you. Try resetting the SRS system first then figure out if its the SRS relay, computer or something else. Good luck dude.

Ya the horn does still work. I think it just doesnt have an airbag for now. Is there a way to just turn the light out for the meantime until i can get airbags. I ahve 14 days till i gota go back to make it pass.

Not that I know of.....plus SRS stuff is federally mandated. If you live somewhere that makes you pass inspections, you sound kind of screwed. Of course you COULD always take the bulb out of the gauge cluster, but if they scan your car you won't pass.

or if they have half a brain it wont pass. the SRS light is on till the capacitors charge when you first start the car. usually 3-5 seconds.

i cant remember if its just when you pull the fuse or when you pull the bulb too but it may disable your horn, cruise control and there was something else. no horn = fail. If you need an airbag for the steering wheel i have one i'll see cheap

not that simple if the tech guys know what to look for wich they probably do since every car works that way.
