how do i know if the tranny is really a jdm itr tranny?

well them what should they be. I have a jdm b16 right now with jdm itr trans

 

If there use to be a VIN number attached to the tranny, its not JDM. Look for the threaded holes.

it used to have a tag, but it does have lsd

 

so how do i know it's a usdm itr, actually, they didn't offer gsr or si lsd usdm did they?

I don't think brand new replacements from the dealer have threaded holes for vins. So it could still possibly be a USDM tranny.

OP, does your tranny say J4D on it or N3E?

it has the threaded holes for the vin plate, so it's usdm and the only available lsd usdm trans is the type-r

If to can see through the axle holes, it has an LSD. If there is a pin between the axle holes, it is an open differential.

I already knew that part

 

Then all that really matters is what you year, b/c the USDM = 96-97 JDM hype R tranny. 98+ had different gears.
