I don't think brand new replacements from the dealer have threaded holes for vins. So it could still possibly be a USDM tranny.
OP, does your tranny say J4D on it or N3E?

it has the threaded holes for the vin plate, so it's usdm and the only available lsd usdm trans is the type-r

If to can see through the axle holes, it has an LSD. If there is a pin between the axle holes, it is an open differential.
