Couple of Lude questions, mostly F20 VS H-series
I'm currently owning my second fourth-gen prelude, and I've decided to get my hands dirty and have some fun with it. I've got the lazy 2.0 litre F20A4 engine (european prelude / accord engine), which I guess is pretty similar to the american F22-engine. I guess someone in here know if they are as similar as they seem. Both F20 and F22 are SOHC non-vtec and they look pretty much the same.
The real question is; is a F22 just a bored F20? I guess it would be more suitable to the american market because of more displacement.
I also know (from other posters at HT), that the H23 intake- and exhaust-manifoils bolt up on the F20. Anyone know if that also includes the H22-manifoils?
And last, I want to try some boost on this thing. Could anyone guide me in the direction of which pistons/rods I should consider? I have this small dream to push 250hp with forged internals, if not.. Well.. Then I guess I'll have a blown engine and a H22 on it's way from the states soon after
All help appreciated. And telling me to search wont do much untill I know how alike the F20/F22-engines are, there isn't too much info on the F20 here.

dont know much about the f20 but the h22 and h23 manifolds are a different bolt pattern and cannot be interchanged.

im not familiar with your exact engine, but the f22 is 95mm stroke, your f20 is most likely 90.7mm

the h22 and h23 manifolds are NOT interchangeable, intake nor exhaust

try some wiseco pistons and crower econo rods, 250hp will be quite easy with relatively low boost levels...
good luck with it

Thanks for the quick replys. I kinda "knew" that the h23 and h22 didn't match, just wanted it confirmed. Guess that means I should go shopping for a H23 turbo manifoil then.
And yeah, I feel 250 is a realistic goal that isn't hoping for too much. Anything above that will just add on to my smile. I'll just check up on the piston and rod spesifications and I'm good to go.
Hope to have some work done this summer.

hi
a h23 turbo kit would fit on the f20a4 bb3 engine a lot of people here in germany go this way and get 230-250 hp after this mod.
maybe youre are interested on a good engine that i want to sale
i have a complete engine swap f20a4 with only 7000 miles (12.000km) for sale
i bought this engine from a rear damaged prelude bb9 with f20a4 and it was bought for my winter project because i have a bb3 ,too and my plan was to go for a f20a4 with turbo on my bb3 that has 140k miles (225.000 km) but i bought a Prelude bb4 on december 2005 and so my old bb3 is now my winter car and i want to sell the complete swap
if you want really to go turbo on the f20a4 engine think about my offer

Yeah I'll keep that in mind. My engine has gone 127.000 verified km, so it's atleast driven in
The people who say they get 230-250hp after boosting, do they have dyno papers on that, is it with oem internals? How much psi (or bars) are they running? Just curious
And! What kind of clutches/trannys fit this thing? I'll probably stick with the tranny I've got, but I have a feeling I should start looking for a new (and better) clutch already...
I've imported both Preludes I've had from germany. The first one was from Neümunster (honda dealer). And this one was from hamburg. Pics of all here:

And once again, Norway has insane import tax regulations. If I import a 92 lude, it will cost me about 3000 Euro in germany. But taxes and registration here cost almost 6400 Euro! That's over twice as much to the state compared to the actual seller.
And just a quick look at the last track day in 2005:

Put an H23 head on the F20 block and boost it if you want even further gains over the sohc...You can even put an H22 head on the block but that requires a little more fabrication and I'm pretty sure the rods arent as beefy on the F20a as they are on the F20b... Either way, even the the sohc head, 250whp is completely reasonable... The F-blocks can take some boost as long as the motor has been taken care of and the rings aren't shot...
