i just purchased an alpine type r 12" dvc 4ohm sub...and im tired of getting some cheap *** amp...
what would you recommend me getting if lets say i had around 200-250 to spend.
ive been doing some research on it and i can wire the sub to be 2 ohm stable
what do you guys think of the pioneer GM-7100M amp or the kenwood KAC-9102D amp?

Your sub is a 500W rms DVC 4 ohm, it can be wired for a 2 ohm or 8 ohm load so you need an amp that puts out 500W RMS at 2 ohms or 8 ohms [ for a good match to the sub] the Pioneer is only 360W RMS into 2 ohms, so should not be an option, the Kenwood is 500W RMS into 4 ohm and 850W RMS into a 2 ohm load, and although it will work you will have to be careful on how high you adjust the gain.

try to find a jl 500/1 amp for decent price.
if you look hard enough you should be able to find one for around 300. so save the extra cash and be satisfied later on.

there is a lot of tuning with this amplifier as well, especially if you opt for the remote bass ****, which i would
im going to be running a 12w6 with the jl slash 500/1 amplifier.. should be a really great match.

The bottom line: if $200-$250 is all you have to spend, go for something used of good quality rather than a new piece of crap.
