more questions....
Ok so i bought my car with an aftermarket stereo in it........my heater control will not go all the way to the right to heat....is it possible the radio is causing the cable to bind on the control so it wont move? i havent had time to take the radio out to figure it out yet.
2nd question, when i first start my car up it idles high, like 1500-2000 rpms, then when it warms about halfway it will drop to about 1k. Is that normal? my other prelude didnt do this.......but it had the ABS light issue that I have in this one........go figure

yeah, something is interfering with the movement of the cable

F.I. cars all do that. It is the computer controlled version of a choke on a carburetted motor. That's not to say that it might not be idling a bit high, or you could have an IACV that could use an inspection...

when i've seen this problem, it was the cable that connects to the heater hose right on the firewall in the engine bay. one had come off and kept hitting the hose itself. the other was still hooked up, but the valve was all corroded and wouldn't open all the way up.

yea, its the heater control valve on the firewall just below the intake manifold.. all you can really do with out replacing it is just shove it all the way to heat, and never put it back on cold until it warms up where you live.. it just gets corroded and sticks.. perhaps you can take it apart and clean it to where it doesnt stick anymore?
well the cable that runs out into the engine compartment i could pull it to heat or push it to cold with some mmppf behind it but i cant move it using the control inside the car. i can see all the cables/gears move under the dash but it wont move the little toggle on the outside of the car. im thinking the screw that holds the lever might be corroded up.
