hey yall i was wondering if i took my ls motor and took it out and put a gsr motor in if i could use my tranny and shift linkage?

ok thanks so if i pull my blow ls motor out and put the gsr vtec in i can just get the motor and ecu harness and all that... will i have to change any of the motor mounts or anything like and and will i have to do any major changes to make this thing work im ganna do it in my garage with my dad so how hard would it be

wow yer new at this arent u. REAR READ READ search for stuff before u ask it and yer swap will go down perfectly.

 

yea im new this is my first car and i just though i would pop the question out there since i threw a rod in my ls block and i just asked lol but yea im new at all this **** im only 16

 

wat up dog i just bought a 90 teg and im only 17 haha. anyways just to help you out ya it will do fine but the tranny you might not like that with the gsr motor. its all up to you when it comes to questions like this. um.... just to let you know the ls tranny has a longer gears then the b16,18c1 and c5 trannys i think there ratio is like around 4.2 or 4.1 and the the others are 4.4 with much shorter gears. good luck.

 

thanks for all the help i just have one last question if i just have the block can i use my ls ecu until i get a gsr one i read that you could it just wouldn't red line at 8k not sure if it is true or not but any help is taken seriously and appreciated

 

(hey im 17 also)Its not a good idea to use the ls ecu, alot of the functions that make the gsr so cool would be disabled, (vtec, 8000rpm redline, second stage butterflies, knock sensor) just to name a few, dont use yer ls ecu. and try not to redline the **** out of it and throw another rod eh?

 

damn im always trying to race to give the first info out there haha. well ya wat he said. i see a lot of my friends using non vtec ecu on vtec motors and they think its cool well its not a pretty sight when everything is going to maunfuction. good luck
