Wow are you turbo'ing a volks beetle? a 2001 type r, a lambo? wtf. Too many cars and too many turbos to choose from. Go in the forced induction topic and ask a more specific question.

Please keep in mind this is not an ALL OUT DRAG CAR but a daily drivin street car!

i explained why the gt28rs would be great. it is small and spools super fast, though it will produce as much power as some of the larger turbos alot of people are using it will spool 1000+rpm quicker and feel alot better with way less lag time. more people dont use them because 1: the prices and 2: they do not know what is truly best for their application. only use a turbo big enough to suit your needs and meet your ultimate power goal.
if you are wanting to make 400+ whp then the gt28rs is not for you, but you say youd like make 240-260 ( i think ) well it would be perfect for that much power and not be overkill on your setup. save your money and buy something worth getting. dont half *** it just to be boosted quicker with less money. do it right and you will have no regrets.

this is true but alot of people boost on t3/t4s on stock block with intentions of building the internals later. It really depends on your long term goals.

why not buy this one:

its a t3/t4 oil and watercooled.
Cant beat it for the price since it does include everything u need to get it started plus a moroso oil pan. 5.5qt aluminum.
if ur gonna buld one ur self, u'll gonna need a bunch of parts. dont forget the injectors, fuel pump, etc.
after u spend about 1200+ building ur own kits, ur gonna shell out another 500+ for fuel management systems such as hondate or 1000+ for AEM ems. Then you're gonna shell out another 600+ to get it tuned by a professional.
So no matter what, if you dont have about $3000+, good luck.
after u spend that 3g's, ur gonna be like, ok, im bored, time to sleeve my block. thats gonna run you another $800 not counting labor to put it back in ur car / take it out.
and once u do that, ur gonna need to upgrade ur pistons / rod, thats another $1000.

$400 is not gonna get you what you want unless it's just the turbo. there are still a lot of missing parts and it adds up. the gt28r itself is already ~ $800 itself. i have a t3/t4 setup and for the stock internals of a gsr, there is not much i could do until i rebuild my internals. yeah it lags at low rpm but kicks hard at full boost all the way to redline. part a kit that suits your needs...

t3 super 60.

for those power goals it will be plenty, with a very good spool up time.

Thunderbird?? You mean Bluebird as in Nissan Bluebird (altima) in Japan with the SR20DET. Anyways, i would save more money as stated before for little things that can either break or are worth replacing. I am not trying to flame or anything, im sorry if i came off that way. I just thought that you were trying to build a turbo kit for $400

i like my t3/t4 tubonetics.... i really dosen't kick in under daily driving, but it pulls hard when you want it too!!! in first gear i loose traction accelerating over 6.5k.... do you need more power? $400 will be enough for the turbo, at leat 1500 for everything else (fuel management, piping, IC, ecu, ect...)
i am runnin a .42/.48 Garrett t3 45 trim and i like it for 7psi, but that turbo dies around 12psi. i would rather a 60 trim or larger, since i will be building my car
