Default thinking about getting some slicks

what would be a good rim/tire size for a pair of slicks on a 2000 Honda Civic Si? Also, any recommendations on companies/models?

I hope you plan on keeping them on the track only.

I think you need a tiny bit more faith in people...

sadly there has been more than one person coming onto the wheel and tire forum asking about running drags on the street and saying how they just picked up new drags for the street. They also wonder why you are no suppose to.

go w/ m/t or m/h 22x8x13's (asuming u are all-motor)
as far as wheels it depends on how deep your pockets are
welds, bogarts, lensos, cirle racing (would be the cheapest)

oh yeah..i'm not that much of a n00b . strictly track only. that's why i want to know some good rims too...so i can have my street tires and my slicks all ready to go on their own rims.

yeah, all motor, no boost. i don't have HUGE pockets, but i figured i should look into some quality if i can afford it.

also, since these will be 100% track use...what are the pros vs. cons between slicks & drag radials?

if your looking for best possible e.t. then slicks no doubt!! the only con w/ slicks would be a harsher engagement if you just dump clutch..diont dump the clutch and shouldnt need to upgrade axles yet..i have well over 100 launches on stk axles w/ not one issue...u just have to learn to preload the drive-train...as far as rims if you are on a budget look into http://www.circleracing.com (site under construction)...but u get quality 13in rims for like $60 each...hope this helps

I feel kinda like a n00B asking, but how do you preload a transmission? I've launched many a time on street tire and DR's, but never on slicks
