motor shut off after disconect bettery cable?
my friend did the swap for me today. first time he start the motor it start up fine. but when he disconect the nagative cabel motor just off by itself???????? what wrong with it maybe he wrie somthing wrong??
You are telling me that when your friend disconnected the negative terminal of the battery the engine dies? Isn't that what is suppose to happen by any chance?
It could be an open wire, or more likely you have an alternator problem.

yes when he took out the negative terminal then the engine just die out! but when i had the old motor it never does that. it should be running even you took those terminal off.
but thank for your help i ll check on the alternator anyway.

Not a recommended thing to do..That can cause other problems..
But,As long as everything in the car was turned off,fan,lights/radio amps etc..
it should have kept on running..

when u disconnect your negative terminal from your battery, the current being created from the alternator will keep your car running even though a ground is not present from the battery. if the car instantly dies when you disconnect the - battery cable then your alternator is bad. its good enough to barely recharge your battery to start the next time or do you have to jump start it. also check your grounds to the engine and also both battery terminals and their mounting areas. if that is not the problem, then your car has some issues.
