Whine after new Honda belts, tensioner, adjuster fitted to H22A?
..I'm a little worried...
Just had all the above replaced on my 110k miles Prelude VTEC BB1 and now the car has a faint whine above 2k rpm all the way. Wasn't there before. Can't hear it in the car, but with both windows down a bit you can hear it. Also, I noticed the idle was a little lower (650-700rpm) on a couple of journeys, which the car seems to pick up and settle back to 790-800rpm. Other than that, car drives as before with no performance difference.
All Honda parts fitted by experience Honda mechanic (from dealer) who has told me to wait a while for it all to settle down. Tensioner is an automatic one on the H22A Prelude so it can't really be overtightened...
I have already done 100miles but the whine is still there. It seems to not be apparent as much when cold but becomes worse when fully warmed up.
"It sometimes happens when all new belts, tensioners are fitted. I would wait a bit longer and see if it settles down." was his answer.
What do you think? Would undoing the auto-tensioner and re-setting make any difference...

how long is eventually?
I seem to have it and thought it was an exhaust leak... I still think I have an exhaust leak... but maybe this thread is my hope.

he may have fitted the belts wrong (timing or balance) and they are rubbing either against each other or against some metal...
i reccomend taking off the timing covers and seeing if there is a bunch of black rubber shards in there...
