Default haha Maaco is a joke.

I know, what was I thinking of even wasting my time going down there? Anyway, I risked checking it out cuz I've heard that if you detrim/prep the car, etc, that you can actually get a "decent" job for about a grand. Well, I went to the one off Kearny Villa Road in San Diego and the guy looked at my car and quoted me $3500 [and that's only a 5 year warranty], and that wasn't even the engine bay.

His original phone estimate was $2500, and since Maaco is supposed to be cheap, I figured that was all-inclusive, but apparently it's an extra $250 for jambs, extra $150 for the underside of the hood, $400 to wetsand/buff the car, and they have to sand my roof down to the bare metal because the paint is faded.

Hah, he also told me it's extra to paint the front core support because it's "black from the factory" and I'm like, "uhh... it's black because my car's black..." I'm done ranting about how much of a moron this guy is. I almost laughed when he quoted me cuz I can get the job done for $3k w/ a lifetime warranty somewhere else.

Yeah, I thought he was gonna say like around a grand on the phone, and when he said 2500 I figured they must have a big market for cars like mine then and that everything's included in the cost, but I guess I was incorrect.

Yup, that's my alternative. I don't know how to get back to San Diego afterwards though and I don't like LA enough to stay in a box for 2 weeks.

Thats just for a general spray or something cheap. But if you want a complete spray, under hood, door jambs and **** like that, expect to toss out some serious bills. My friend went to a local shop and asked how much for a respray if he did the prep work, he was quoted at 3500, and thats with a show quality clear to it. Dont go to maaco, ever, my friend took his lude there and they sprayed EVERYTHING

I'm retarded, I admit.

I'd love to do it myself, but my I'd probably ruin it and my garage is barely big enough to fit an Accord.
