OEM CTR Lip and Replicas ('96-'98)
I am looking to purchase a Civic Type R Front Lip for my 96 Couple. I currently have a knock-off/replica type lip on my car now, but it is nothing like the OEM CTR lip for the 96-98. Fitment is fair at best, and the way its mounted is not secure.
I am trying to source an OEM lip, but was curious if anyone new of a TRUE REPLICA that actually had the same shape/geometry/mounting etc of the OEM CTR Lip?

The Japanese EK front end is something like 2 inches longer than the North American one, so the only way to get the real CTR lip to fit is to get the whole front end, from what I've been told.
And it's 300$ for the lip only. 300$ for a piece of plastic I'll scrape or crack the **** out of? No thanks.

what?...you might be mixing up the 99-00 and the 96-98's. he wants the 96-98 body style.

they do have this in a replica form, but the bottoms flare out way more and im positive they dont come near the OEM fitting....just go to http://www.jdmland.com and order one.

Here's my replica shortly after paint and installation Looks good there, but the corners are unsupported so they "ride" up and down the bumper, and have since ruined the paint.

the replica you have isnt even the replica for your year car...its a copy of the 99-00 si/ctr lip. at least get a replica that resembles the 96-98 oem ctr lip. i had the wings west one and it fit pretty damn good.....a little sagging since it was urethane but overall pretty good.

or....try and find the pretty hard to find SIR lip....

Heh, but we made ours exactly like the real ones. Same tabs & tab locations, shape, etc. Just that ours is made out of polyurethane where the oem ones are plastic

I did use double sided automotive tape but because the lip does not sit flush against the OE bumper the life was short lived (ie. a few hours), and I REFUSE to have unsightly screws visable on the outside fasia of the lip. And to completely address your uncalled for remarks, there is no means for bottom mounting the lip in the corners. The only option would have been to fabricate mounting tabs/brackets to fasten the corners to the OE bumper. Now please leave, you are not helping.

I am just glad to find a "real" 96-98 replica. After searching around for so long, I cam to the wrong conclusion that all 96-98 replicas were the "crap" I have.
So Wings West Replica is polyurethane? When you say "sag" what exactly are you refering to?
Also what is the JDMShit Replica made off? Look to be and hard ABS type plastic.
