Engine light on, O2 sim don't work. Help!!!
It's been about a year now that my engine first turned on since I replaced my manifold for a header and aftermarket catalic converter. I tried an O2 sim from ebay. It was a little black box with a red light on it. I hooked it up like it said and it only lasted for about 20 miles. I tried another type, 2 wires with a resister. This one lasted about 6 months before my engine light went on. I reseted my light and it started to come on frequently again. I tried another O2 sim (same as the one that lasted for 6 months) and that one didn't work at all. Now I'm not sure what to do.
My engine code is D16Y7 with Automatic (106h.p. Look out!!!)
ECM# is 37820-P2E-C81UF
I'm willing to get an after market ECM or is there a way to modify mine to get rid of this engine code? I want it fixed once and for all not worrying that the light will come back on again.

all the ecu looks for at the secondary o2 is a minimum amount of change from the reading from the primary. it could be your primary o2 that is on its way out.

you could convert to obd1 and just run one o2 if you don't have emissions, but there has to be an easier way to solve your problem.

i always go to radio shack and buy a 1 meg ohm resistor and wire it inline with the signal wire from the second o2. in other words cut the signal wire and wire the resistor inline between the two wires you just cut. ive done this on numerous vehicles with no problems in over two years.
