Default B18B swap into 97 civic ex

Okay Im getting a 1997 Civic Ex soon. I want to drop a B18B in it. Ive tried to search plenty of times, but it doesnt really answer my questions.

Will it just drop in, if i get a OBDII motor? What will i need? Also this is a newbie question, but i never really got this. If i get a B18B motor, i have to buy engine parts for an LS motor right? But how will fitment go since it is in a Civic, such as an intake, header, exhaust system etc..

search man, but, i will give u some pointers since i have this motor in my 99 coupe.....

all the engine parts will need to be for the motor itself..............get a intake, header for the motor and the exhaust might need to be modded cuz the headers differ in length......

I have an LS in my 96 EK Hatch. Bolt ons except for the exhaust fit right in as if it was the original motor. Your engine does not take up the entire bay. However, you will have a problem with ur header and exhaust, you should probably go to a muffler shop. They can custom make a mid pipe for you.

if you are putting a Bseries engine in a 96-up civic you will need the cast iron 99-00 SI timing belt mount for the driverside mount, and you will need the 99-00 SI rear transmission mount, other than that you will have to switch IACV wires and crank fluctuation sensor wires. I would recommend going OBD1 because it just makes things that much easier.

What do you plan on doing with your D16Y8 motor? Because I will take it off your hands. Or are you looking to get dinero for it? If so, how much shipped? Let me know and keep me informed!

You can use the metal peice that bolts to your driverside mount, but not the same cast iron part with the two studs shooting out of it that mounts to the block, the stock integra mount has a different bolt pattern than the 96-up civic.

Hasport makes a nice mount kit for your swap. You'll also have to use LS shift linkage and throdle cable I believe...not 100%...You can go to your local Boarder's or Barns and Noble, and pick up a book called Honda engine swaps...it has all the popular swaps. You'll learn a TON! I can't find mine right now, otherwise i would help ya out more

You just need b-series shift linkage, and I made a 97 dx throttle cable work with my 97 ls swap, all it takes is a little ingenuity.
