Is it a simple swap? Don't these require uprated valve springs and possibly other internal modifications?

You're good to 9100 with stock valvetrain.
Unless you have a 97 (OBD2a) you will probably need an adapter harness.

What exactly is the difference?

Sorry if this has been posted before I'm just curious and figure it would add to his sale if people who didn't know were informed.

The Mugen ECU has a 9100 rev limit and is pretty safe with the stock valvetrain. Vtec kicks in sooner ( somewhere around 4300-4800) more linear power.

What zygspeed said. You'll need a wireharness adapter.

If you have an ITR and want a bad *** ECU that you just want to pop in and ride, this is it! I remember running up the twisty mountain roads at 'deals gap' a few years back behind ZYGSPEED when his 97 R had this ECU and watch flames pop out his exhaust with every downshift......definitely has some rich fuel mapping!

Sort of, it only looks for the primary O2 sensor.

1998's are OBD2A aswell, so if you have either of those years you'll be set.

I have a 97' cdn spec car. Will the ecu bolt right in and not throw any cels? Is the ecu practical for a daily driver?

Thanks

fuel mileage might suffer a bit if it's as rich as some people state it being, so if you say it's a DD ....then I would definately not use it in that regard if efficiency is important to you and your cat is still installed.....

Great price...had a chance to try it too.... makes good, safe power for basic I/H/E combos.

No, i have one, pimary sensor unplugged, no CEL. This ECU don't need any o2 sensor. Perfect for fitting a WB in primary sensor place.

Pretty much the same as the Mugen one....

Rev limit @ 9,000rpm
VTEC set @ 5,100~5,400rpm depending on throttle angle.

JDM idles are apparently set at 1100rpm instead of 800+/- 50rpm. Can't recall if this is the case with the Mugen brain though....

Why this is.... could be due to emissions I dunno....

I remember reading an article on hondata saying how bad the mugen program was. I can't find it now. It was a pretty long and descriptive page of why it's not good.
