Horn stopped working?
I dont know when the last time i used my horn was but today i tried using it and it doesnt work. What wires should i look at? i looked in the engine bay and theres a long yellow wire that seems to be cut, is that it? any info you have would be great, Thank you.
Check the fuse, there's one under the hood for the horn, if that doesnt work, take off your steering wheel, there will be a copper thing on the back of your sttering wheel that touches another piece of metal on the hub, maybe that came off.
i checked the steering wheel and the copper part DOES touch the plate. I checked the fuse and thats ok too. what else should i check and where exactly is the horn? i see a long yellow wire that doesnt connect anywhere... what is it?
look through the grill of your bumper, you will see it... little black disc about 3" in diameter.... now smack it with a screwdriver as sometime the diaphragm stick on them...
Hate to say this but horns just die. Some lady cut me off in her SUV awhile back and I laid on the horn and one of them died.. so the sound of my horn when from "ERRRR" to "eeeee"..
If your horns ARE dead than you can find replacement disc horns that are in the range of 120 db's or you can go big and buy and air horn.. I wish I would have got the air horn!
